About Us

Being a wife to a commercial fisherman who is gone up to 5 months every year, mother of four children (ages 4, 6, 16, 18) and two furry kids, a 165lb Mastiff and our 6 month old black lab. I'm always trying to make my family more aware of conserving, and their impact on our earth. I wanted to do something that would give them a better understanding of what it is to recycle and re-use. Even with my busy schedule, I wanted to make a difference the generations to come will benefit from. Growing up I always had a creative mind (as my mom has reminded me of) and I've finally found an avenue to put it to good use.

At the beginning of every summer my good friend and I would take turns buying each other new beach bags for the upcoming season, since we literally wore through our last season's bags. I had been given some coffee bags, which were to be used on our commercial albacore tuna boat, but as it turns out couldn't be utilized. Instead of just tossing them into the trash, I thought why not recycle and re-use these durable bags and give them new life. They have to be strong enough to carry 150 pounds of coffee beans across the world encountering all types of climates. Late one evening I cut and sewed my first bag, staying up into the early morning. I was so excited how my first bag turned out that I continued to sew every evening producing a different style. Yes, my husband thought I had lost my mind, but I knew that I felt alive as I sewed evening after evening, enjoying every minute designing a new style! I completed my designs and began The Coffee Bag Chick.

My bags are stylish, gender neutral, eco-friendly and perfect for where ever life takes you!

"Bags good for the earth and for life!"
